queen's biggest selling hit took the world by storm. it was centered around john deacon's bass line, which owed a lot to chic's 'good times'. that 'machinegun' groove provides a anxious undercurrent to the violence of the lyrics.

this song was everywhere back then. it's hard to believe that the band was not going to release it as single until michael jackson told them that they should after he heard them perform it in concert. chances are he didn't hear it backwards.
