just can't get enough

These synth-pop pioneers broke through with the fast fashion of this insanely catchy single that folks just couldn't seem to get enough of. Depeche Mode recorded the song for their debut album 'Speak and Spell' which was produced by Daniel Miller of Mute Records, who offered the band a record deal after seeing them play live. Keyboardist Vince Clarke wrote it and most of the songs on the album. 'Just Can't Get Enough' was the band's first single to make the British top ten, their first single released in the US (making it to number twenty six on the dance chart) and Australia (where it became their biggest hit, reaching number four), and their first single to have a music video. It was directed by Clive Richardson and is their only video with Vince Clarke, who left the band shortly after it was released and went on to form Yazoo and Erasure, taking with him the exuberance that informs this classic.

When I'm with you baby, I go out of my head
And I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough
All the things you do to me and everything you said
And I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough

We slip and slide as we fall in love
And I just can't seem to get enough of

We walk together, we're walking down the street
And I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough
Every time I think of you I know we have to meet
And I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough

It's getting hotter, it's a burning love
And I just can't seem to get enough of

I just can't get enough

And when it rains, you're shining down for me
And I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough
Just like a rainbow you know you set me free
And I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough

You're like an angel and you give me your love
And I just can't seem to get enough

I just can't get enough
