This revved up monster of a lost classic erupted out of the garage with a mix of blues and punk and rockabilly and country. 'Teenage Head' could very well be called Grateful Stones meet the Rolling Dead as it evokes the sound and style of both of those bands. It is often compared to the Stones' 'Sticky Fingers' (which came out four months later) and Mick Jagger even said that he thought it was better. 'Teenage Head' was the last album the Flamin' Groovies recorded with wildman Roy Loney before the dynamic tensions with Cyril Jordan that fueled their creative fire led him to leave the band.
