Ten years ago, Destiny's Child gave us more than we could handle with this curvaceous cantata. 'Bootylicious' was written and produced by Beyoncé Knowles, Rob Fusari and Falonte Moore; with a sample of the guitar riff from 'Edge of Seventeen' by Stevie Nicks. Knowles said listening to that song on a flight from Japan reminded her of a "voluptuous woman". She came up with the line "I don't think you're ready for this jelly" as a joke; but her bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams loved it. Rowland has said, "I'm so proud of everything that we did in Destiny's Child. In Destiny's Child, we showed that we could carry ourselves as powerful women, and there was more to us than just our bodies. Some people thought a song like 'Bootylicious' was about being sexy, but it was more about having confidence in your own skin." Matthew Rolston directed the video which portrays Destiny's Child performing dance steps inspired by various Michael Jackson videos. It features cameos from Stevie Nicks and Beyoncé's sister, Solange Knowles. 'Bootylicious' became the band's last number one hit in the US and was a top five hit around the world.
