right here right now

Jesus Jones had a worldwide smash with this techno dance song inspired by the fall of the Berlin Wall. It was written by lead singer Mike Edwards for their second album 'Doubt' and features a sample of Jimi Hendrix's 'Voodoo Child (Slight Return)'. "Right Here, Right Now" made it to number two on the US billboard singles chart but only made it to number thirty one in their native England. The album topped the UK album chart but only hit number twenty five in the states. Jesus Jones is not a one hit wonder; their follow up 'Real, Real, Real' was a top five hit. 'Doubt' was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Alternative Album category and 'Right Here Right Now' for Best Pop Vocal Performance. "Right Here, Right Now" has since been used in political campaigns and numerous commercials.

A woman on the radio talks about revolution
When it's already passed her by
Bob Dylan didn't have this to sing about
You know it feels good to be alive

I was alive and I waited, waited
I was alive and I waited for this
Right here, right now
There is no other place I want to be
Right here, right now
Watching the world wake up from history

I saw the decade in, when it seemed
The world could change at the blink of an eye
And if anything
Then there's your sign... of the times

I was alive and I waited, waited
I was alive and I waited for this
Right here, right now

I was alive and I waited, waited
I was alive and I waited for this
Right here, right now
There is no other place I want to be
Right here, right now
Watching the world wake up from history

Right here, right now
There is no other place I want to be
Right here, right now
Watching the world wake up from history

Right here, right now
There is no other place I want to be
Right here, right now
Watching the world wake up...
