butterflies and zebras and moonbeams and fairy tales

james marshall "jimi" hendrix

(born johnny allen hendrix, november 27, 1942 – september 18, 1970)

today's super groovy delicious bite is a thousand smiles served with a healthy dose of feedback. jimi played his guitar upside down; perhaps that's how he was able to completely change the way we experience music. while he was a confident and dynamic personality on stage; he was an introverted perfectionist in the studio. he recorded four albums and a wealth of over three hundred songs during a span of a few years. there are so many great covers of this song; but his version is still the best. the echo of the guitar solo is produced by a rotating speaker for a doppler effect.

well she's walking
through the clouds
with a circus mind
that's running round
butterflies and zebras
and moonbeams
and fairy tales
that's all she ever thinks about
riding with the wind.

when I'm sad,
she comes to me
with a thousand smiles,
she gives to me free
it's alright she says it's alright
take anything you want from me,
anything.
