we the people...not written for chiefs!




the constitution was adopted on september 17, 1787, by the constitutional convention in philadelphia, pennsylvania. it outlined a balance of power within a governmental structure to resist tyranny and a bill of rights for every citizen. while it is likely that drafts were written on paper made from hemp, the final copies were written on parchment. the ideals in this document have shaped how we view ourselves and those around us. most of us believe that they will stand the test of time.

imagine...

a post-apocalyptic world where nations resembling the united states and china have been at war for as long as they can remember. kirk uses a word that gets the attention of the quiet man in the cell next to him.

"freedom...it is our worship word. you will not speak it."

now imagine...

that this post-apocalyptic world actually has an ancient text that matches exactly another text from another world.

"no words have said this thing of importance in quite this way."




We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
