Bruce Miller, Asiah The Continent, and Luchi Lodge created the lyrics and melody to the song and Mary added some of her own. Dr. Dre produced the track for her album 'No More Drama'. 'Family Affair' was her first number one on the pop chart, spending six weeks there. It changed dance floor politics and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.
