nilsson schmilsson

By the time Harry Nilsson released the diverse pop brilliance of his seventh album, he was primed for success. Although he had scored a Grammy for his rendition of 'Everybody's Talkin'' from the soundtrack to the movie 'Midnight Cowboy' and Three Dog NIght took his song 'One' to number five, Nilsson's own albums had sold poorly. He teamed up with Barbra Streisand's producer Richard Perry at Trident Studios in London to craft his most polished and balanced album. 'Nilsson Schmilsson' is all at once charming, disarming, rollicking, sweet, sad, catchy, clever, and very very funny. The album made it to number three on the album charts, certified gold, and earned Nilsson a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year.

The hard rocking screamer 'Jump Into the Fire' peaked at number sixteen in Canada. It features Jim Gordon on drums and Herbie Flowers on bass.
