Elvis topped the British charts with this double A-side of tunes written by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman. The duo worked in a penthouse cubbyhole in the Brill Building writing twelve songs a week for Aldon Music including classic hit songs like 'A Teenager in Love', 'Turn Me Loose', 'This Magic Moment', and 'Save The Last Dance For Me'. Pomus wrote the lyrics while Shuman handled the melodies. They had already written a chart topper for the King with 'Surrender'. Pomus and Shuman would write twenty-five songs for Elvis, including 'Suspicion' and 'Viva Las Vegas'; but neither one of them ever met him. Elvis did call Mort in the middle of the night during the recording session for '(Marie's The Name of) His Latest Flame' to get advice on the piano line he had written.

'Little Sister' made to number five on the Billboard Hot 100.
"Little sister, don't you kiss me once or twice
Then say it's very nice
And then you run
Little sister, don't you do what your big sister done"
In the US, '(Marie's the Name Of) His Latest Flame' made it to number four on the Billboard Top 100, and number two on the Easy Listening chart.
"Would you believe that yesterday
This girl was in my arms and swore to me
She'd be mine eternally
And Marie's the name of his latest flame "
